DIY Mudcloth Pillows + 5 places to get your own

DIY Mudcloth Pillows- where to buy
I have been wanting to share our little family room with you for a while now. Ever since I posted a few pictures on Instagram, I’ve received quite a few emails requesting a room tour. I was holding back, because this room is not complete yet. The gallery on the wall is complete, but as you can see the frames are still empty. Blame me it on procrastination and lack of time. This is pretty much what your family room will look like when you have no idea what you’re doing and or can’t make up your mind. So yeah ! it’s not your typical blogger family room with beautiful peonies and perfect  styled coffee tables. I always wanted a part of my house to remind me of my Malian roots and I think this room is doing a pretty good job.

The one thing that everyone seems to love about the room are the mudcloth pillows. I made these with some fabric I bought when I went on vacation in Mali. This is not the authentic heavy mudcloth fabric, It’s just a regular  fabric with mudcloth designs. You can make your own pillow cases even if you do not know how to sew. Etsy has quite a few stores that carry  just the fabric. I followed the instructions from this post on livelovediy.com .The other option if you really love these pillows would be to buy them pre-made. Here are five places that sell mudcloth pillows,or pillow cases ThimbleandCloth, Afriquedesign BohoPillow, ArtofMali, Homegirlcollection.
