Valentine’s Day With Boston Pizza + Help a Kid get a Mentor

Toronto lifestyle blogger talks about the importance of mentorship with Boston Pizza

Every now and then, you meet that one person that will help shape your life. Most times you won’t see it happen. When you look back at your life and career, you can’t help but notice the person who was there to offer valuable life experience and advice when you needed it. The one that pushed you to challenge yourself. The one that helped you take difficult decisions and encouraged you to continue building and living your dreams.

I was privileged to have met such an amazing person and it’s none other than my husband.

The Importance of Mentorship.

I am so happy to team up with Boston Pizza to share with you the importance of mentorship and how you can help many kids across Canada get a mentor.

As we celebrate our tenth year wedding anniversary this year, my husband continues to be the person I can rely on when I need advice in my personal and professional life. The experiences and conversations have given me some valuable insights about the importance of a mentor. Mentors can see your potential and help you tap into it. They sometimes understand your potential better than you do. In my experience they carefully ask you the right questions, walking by your side as you make your choices. They guide you, but never send you down a particular path. They accelerate your growth akin to adding the right catalyst to a chemical reaction. Watching the results of being mentored is always an amazing experience. A mentor-mentee relationship must be cherished; they are the school we must keep attending but never graduate from.

I mentioned last week that I was going to wear something casual for Valentine’s Day.It turns out my husband will be on a business trip on Valentine’s Day. So, with a little help from Boston Pizza this year, I set up a surprise romantic dinner for us before his departure. I wanted to simply say thank you for all the incredible years of mentorship and love. The heart shaped pizza seemed like the perfect option for the occasion. On Valentine’s day, one dollar ($1) from every pizza sold, including heart-shaped pizzas, and Future Prospects dessert will go to support Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects. The foundation is committed to connecting kids with role models in their communities to ensure they have a bright future. While making your purchase, donate $2 towards a paper heart, to get $5 off your next meal. All donations go directly to the Foundation.
I am thankful to still have my mentor in my life, I have no doubt that he’ll be an exceptional mentor to my kids. I want to hear about your story, did you have a mentor growing up ? Any point in time in your life ? How did it help you become the person you are?
