What To Pack: Tropical Vacation (Plus size)

I am getting ready to take my flight this afternoon for sunny Punta Cana with Sunwing vacations. Pinch me twice ! Spring break couldn’t have been a better time, especially with the nasty weather we’ve been having as of late. Many of you had questions regarding a few of the things I packed for the trip. Since I could not answer to all the questions on my instatories, I thought I would share some of my favorite swimsuits, bags, sandals, basically everything you need for a tropical vacation

As a blogger, I am always going to pack a bit more than I need. I know, I know! I am going there to relax, but I can’t miss out on photo opportunities either. If you are planning a tropical vacation, or simply prepping for Spring break these items would be perfect for your getaway.

Swimsuit here & here

Swimsuits and Beach Cover Ups:

First, no tropical getaway is lit without the perfect swimsuit. Gone are the days plus size women have to struggle to find cute swimsuits. The Gabifresh collection alone is to die for. I’ve added a bunch of options below. If by any chance you do not find anything from this selection, by all means check out my 2017 plus size swimsuit guide.

Dress here

Resort Dresses ( Florals, Off the shoulders, Maxis)

I always opt for dresses and kaftans when I go away to a warmer climate. I love the ones that are breathable, easy to slip into and that can be dressed down and up. Thankfully, the off the shoulder trend is still in so I can slip into this one, this one, or this one. I also packed a few maxis, even made a kaftan.

Accessories ( Beach bags, straw hats, statements earrings, Sandals)

I am so obsessed with all the beautiful straw beach totes. The options are endless. I have linked to some of my favorite accessories below.

Beach Totes

Sandals

Other things you may need

  • Magazines for the beach.
  • Beach towels are not necessary if you’re going to an all inclusive hotel. If you like to have your own here is option here here here.
  • A cute pair of sunglasses,  hats, sunscreen.
  • Cutoff denim shorts, or bermuda shorts are a must. They can serve  as a cover up and perfect for excursions
  • I love having a first aid kit  with some alcohol wipes, ibuprofen , bug spray, Pepto Bizmol and a mini emergency kit like this one.
  • Last but not least, your confidence.

I hope this post helps you prepare for any shopping, outfit planning, and packing for your upcoming beach or tropical vacation!
