3 Ways To Wear burgundy Pants To Work This Fall

Cardigan/ Cami/ Pants  c/o Reitmans

I have been blogging for years. For all those years I and others have fought tooth and nail for inclusivity and better fashion for plus size women. First, some brands listened and started to make plus-sized lines. We were happy until we found out that the lines would only be carried online (insert sad face). If they were carried in the store, you had to walk into the darkest corner at the back to get them. Even then, the items in plus were different from the straight size ( insert another sad face).

Fast forward to 2017 and enter Reitmans. One of the few brands that took note and made changes. Now, Reitmans carries clothing up to 3x both online and in STORE.

I hear you saying “NO WAY!”

I know, I did not believe it until I walked into the store a few weeks ago. I checked the first rack of clothes which went up to 3x, then checked another rack just to make sure I was not dreaming. The feeling of walking into a store and shop the same stuff as your friends is simply amazing. So, remember the next time you walk into reitmans, there will not be a plus section because we are all the same now. Inclusivity matters.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the fabulous clothes I am wearing in today’s post. When I left my full-time job years ago, the last thing I thought I would be buying again is office appropriate clothing. Turned out my career as a full-time blogger sometimes calls for business dressing. Most people like to stick to neutral colors when it comes to work clothes. I am here to prove to you that you can wear bold colors, fun prints and still be work appropriate. With that in mind, I embarked on my shopping adventure to Reitmans.

Here is what my list looked like,

NEED:  Clothing for work/meetings

WANT: Fun prints, fall/bold colors, and more importantly stylish pieces

LOVE:  Would love pieces that are great for layering.

All the pieces I picked up are fall staples, easy to mix and match and perfect for work. The cardigan and blazer make great layering pieces. The plaid shirt and cami have just the right amount of prints and patterns for my taste. Last, but not least burgundy pants can be dressed up for work or dressed down for the weekend.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I would love to know how you feel about shopping in a space that offers the same clothing in both straight and plus size. Also, do you wear prints and bold colors to work? Let me know in the comments.

This post was sponsored by Reitmans. The opinions are completely based on my experience. Thank you for supporting brands that make this blog possible!
