Are you happy with yourself ?

Right before I started writing this post, I saw a very interesting post on my instagram feed here. The post was about fact that many of us let ourselves be fooled because we have a certain number of followers on social media. After I re-posted the post on my feed, I asked my followers the following question:

” After you turn off your facebook, instagram, twitter, blog, are you still happy with your life and the things you’ve accomplished ? “

I had a long conversation with a blogger friend of mine just a couple of weeks ago. I expressed to her how sometimes, I really wanted blogging to go back to what it was before.Remember, when people just blogged for the love of it? Remember when you did not have to advertise on social media ? Don’t get me wrong social media is a beautiful thing, however you have to remember that they can be shut down in a minute. The things you do when you are not online are really the moments that matter.

When you pick up your kids from school, when you cook your family’s favorite meals, when you take care of your husband/wife/partner, when you assist your friends in time of need, when you donate that blood at the hospital, how you treat people to name a few. So let me ask you again, when you turn off your computer are you happy with your yourself , and your life?

I agree I miss the old blogging days when people didn't start blogging for popularity/money/free stuff…when it was all about fashion. I definitely love who I am offline…..taking care of my Husband and my puppy, spending time with my family, always looking forward to reading a new book, and working in a rewarding career. This dress looks amazing on you!

Agreed Assa! Living your 'real life' is what matters most! I am at my happiest when I am 'logged off' 🙂 I take breaks from social media outlets regularly; I insist on making the time to live in the moment and to create new, un-captured/'un-liked' memories with the individuals who encompass my life and add meaningful value.
