The Sidney Dress

I hope that you guys are having a fantastic week. A few weeks ago, the Eshakti team contacted me to find out if I was interested to try one of their dresses. I am not sure if they read my initial review or not, but if they have, it’s good to know that they still wanted me to try them out again. From my first experience with this company, I learned that customizing, and knowing my measurements were a must. Based on my measurements I went with a size 20 and customized the dress to my preferred length. You can’t see it because of my blazer, but this dress has removable and adjustable slim straps. My dress is slightly big, but I like it that way just in case of weight gain. Overall, I’m happy with my dress, then again I am a little bias, because I did not have to pay any customs fees nor pay extra  to customize the dress. I honestly do believe that my first experience helped me to make better choices this time. If you decide to buy this dress keep in mind that it can only be dry cleaned.

Love this outfit, but more importantly, I love this hair style, almost as much as your big curls. 🙂 I've ordered from eshakti a couple of times and the sizing has been hit or miss, but I like that I can customize certain aspects of the things I've ordered (like the length or sleeve style).

I am so torn about eShakti. I recently purchased four items from them after a friend raved about their dresses. I ordered two dresses and two tops. They were offering free customization on your first order, so I had everything completely customized based on my measurements.

The first dress fit perfectly and is so cute. The second, which I was sweety to love turned out odd. One pocket refused to lay flat, making it look like I had a triangle jutting out of my hip and the bust was all wrong: started 1/3 up my chest and gapped at the top. For the blouses, one was fine but I ultimately didn't end up keeping because the color didn't really work on me and the other was so oddly designed (a sash for a faux wrap) that I didn't hesitate to send it back.

This is where my troubles began. You cannot reach anyone at their corporate office if you have questions the customer service line can't answer. I sent two unanswered emails and made two calls before finally getting a completely useless two line response. I eventuallyto just decided to keep the one dress & never order from them again.

While I was having trouble getting a response I did some research. They have a horrible D- rating on the better business bureau's site due to issues like the ones I encountered and problems getting refunds.

A couple of other notes, customers in the US can be hit with customs charges if the order is over $200. I found shipping to be expensive, since it's coming from India. Plus you have to pay the return shipping for any returns ( if you're a US customer they'll give you any amount you pay over $6.50 as a store credit).

Although they have some other items I'd really like to order, I just don't trust them. I'll be staying away.

      Hello Kate,
I wish you had left some kind of email here where the company could have reached you and maybe help you out. Obviously you making this comment because you are not happy with their services. Like I said this is not a sponsored post, so chance are they won't see this comment. I am glad you pointed out that there are customs fees because it clearly states on their site that you might have to pay some fees. I was not happy when I was hit with customs fees the first time either, but I was expecting to pay something because the items are coming from another country. Thank you for stopping by, and I really hope you have a better chance elsewhere.
