how to wear culottes in the winter

how to wear culottes in the winter -Assa Cisse -

Happy Friday!  My closet is full of so many goodies, some I bought and some were sent to me. I just wish I had enough days in the year to wear them all. Since I can’t, I try to purge every six months or so to get rid of pieces I no longer need. I am not going to lie I get attached to my clothes and it’s hard for me to give them away. For instance, take the sweater I am wearing in today’s post. I bought a few years ago and every time I tried to get it I could not. Glad I kept it though because it paired perfectly with these cute culottes I also purchased sometimes last year. Read More »

Happy New Year !

Damn guys it’s 2018! I am still in disbelief. I hope you all had an amazing holiday season. If you are still reading this little blog of mine, thank you. Thank you for sticking around even though a lot of us do not read blogs any longer thanks to social media. I have not blogged as much as I could have last year. Many of you already know that I blog full time. With that comes a lot of commitments, deadlines, planning, travel … add that to being a soccer mom. I still would not change it for anything. I never knew My Curves and Curls would grow to be what it is today. Last year, I worked with a lot of amazing brands, went to amazing trips, attended fabulous events, was part of an epic photo shoot ( more on that soon). None of that would have been possible without your comments, encouragements, and clicks. Read More »

How To Wear A Monochromatic Outfit Like A Pro

How To Wear Monochromatic like A Pro

How to wear monochromatic like a pro? I don’t think I am a pro at this, but based on the few times I’ve worn a monochromatic outfit I think I can share a few tips with you. I wore this beauty a few weeks ago, edited the photos and forgot about it until I had a conservation with a friend today about pleated skirts. If you ever thought you could not wear them because of your midsection, I am living proof that you can. Here is the thing, I always get my pleated skirts from straight size stores such as H&M or Zara. Why? because the skirts have a lot to give but take me in at the same time. Read More »

I’ve been sitting on this news since this summer and I could not wait to finally it share with you. Starting today and right on time for the holidays, you can shop sizes US16 to US24 on their website.

I can state without any hesitation that 2017 has been a great year for plus size fashion.  From Joe Fresh, Reitmans and New York & Co extending their lines to Nike, Rebel Wilson, and Lauren Conrad launching new ones.  Read More »

3 Ways To Wear burgundy Pants To Work This Fall

Cardigan/ Cami/ Pants  c/o Reitmans

I have been blogging for years. For all those years I and others have fought tooth and nail for inclusivity and better fashion for plus size women. First, some brands listened and started to make plus-sized lines. We were happy until we found out that the lines would only be carried online (insert sad face). If they were carried in the store, you had to walk into the darkest corner at the back to get them. Even then, the items in plus were different from the straight size ( insert another sad face).

Fast forward to 2017 and enter Reitmans. One of the few brands that took note and made changes. Now, Reitmans carries clothing up to 3x both online and in STORE. Read More »

Joe Fresh Plus Size Line Review

Joe Fresh extended line- Fall editionWhen I heard the news that Canadian clothing retailer, Joe Fresh was launching a plus size line or I should say extending their line for its fall collection, I was excited, to say the least. I have squeezed myself in many of their pieces in the past so the news that some of the new merchandises will go up to size 3x was absolute music to my ears.

As a visible fat woman, plus size, whatever you want to call it, it’s always a win when a brand decides to add a plus size line or better yet simply extend their original line. It’s an acknowledgment that women like me love fashion and deserve to look good. And….. nothing like a one stop shop, grocery, and clothes shopping will be completed together.

Denim Skirt x Cozy Sweater

assa-cisse-top-toronto-fashion-blogger-plus-fall-outfit-ideas

Happy Sunday everyone !  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I am enjoying the last few days of Fall. The weather  in Toronto has been surprisingly tame this year and I am not complaining. I have a busy week of events, meetings and parties ahead of me this week. So, I spent half of my day trying to plan outfits for the entire week.

I purchased this lovely plus size denim skirt since last summer. Since I missed wearing it all summer and wanted to get a chance to wear it this Fall before it gets too cold.  I paired it with this burgundy sweater  which has been a life saver this autumn. How many times I’ve worn it so far? A lot of times. I think it goes with everything. Read More »

Fall Wedding Guest Jumpsuit

Melissa Mccarthy Jumpsuit -Toronto top fashion blogger

Fall weddings are not as frequent as summer weddings, but they do happen. Most times, I go for a comfy dress, because I want to be ready to stuff myself and bust a few dance moves. This beautiful and easy breezy  jumpsuit from the Melissa McCarthy  Seven7 collection does the same job as any comfy dress. I know pink is not the colour most people go for around this time of the year, but adding a few deep coloured accessories can take your outfit from Summer to Fall.
