Capturing vacation photos with your mobile device- Toronto mommy blogger

If someone had told me that one day all I would be able to capture my family vacations with a phone I would have laughed out loud. Seriously I would have. While calling smartphones the revolution of the century would be a big understatement, it’s nice to sometimes reflect on how these pocket-friendly devices have changed our day to day lives. As a mom and content creator, taking pictures is second nature; As far back as I can recall, I’ve always had some sort of camera with me documenting everything I came across. Of course, this got a lot more intense when my kids were born, I literally don’t go anywhere anymore without a camera.

Recently, I came to realize how convenient taking pictures on vacation has become with my smartphone. Like many families, we’ve upgraded to a DSLR camera with a whole crew of lenses when our kids were born. If you have one of those, you know that despite the lovely pictures, they are a real pain to carry around and someone always has to be the keeper of the generously sized camera bag. It also means no family selfies! Family vacations are all about making memories. You want to be able to quickly capture and preserve those memories forever in photos that really capture your time together.

With today’s phones, things have changed. Pictures from the phone along with their ability to capture really clean video has gotten to a point where they have become my go-to devices for documenting our vacations. One cannot talk about the convenience without looking at a couple of awesome features that these cameras bring to the table. Depending on the phone, some of the features include a great amount of storage space, waterproofing and even shoot 4k videos. Having your camera out trying to capture that moment with my kids at the waterpark became a thing in the past ever since I purchased my most recent phone.

Here’s the best feature yet, it’s a connected world, grandparents no longer have to call and ask for the latest pictures and videos of the kids. We are currently in Port Colborne for a little vacation but our families already have all the images of our time here already. It’s literally snap and share, the entire digital world is now built with smartphones in mind. You may already have a smartphone so

I’ll leave you with a little tip to brighten your shopping experience next time you’re on the market for a phone or plan upgrade. Drop by The Mobile Shop – the selection of devices and rate plans are outstanding. I went there just a couple of weeks ago to get my mom who came from Mali a phone and a plan. I told the advisor what I needed and she took care of the rest. Since I am a PC Optimum points user I was also able to earn points from my purchase. Did I mention that I got all this done at the grocery store? Get a new phone, earn points, complete your grocery shopping all at the time sounds like a good deal to me.
