Winter is here! Repeat after me, Winter is here! Like most people around this time of the year, I am spending half of my day complaining about the freezing temperatures and the other half looking at pictures of beautiful beaches around the world. A little escape to the sun sounds like a great idea right? Today I am the bearer of good news, not any good news, a historic news and I was part of it.

Before becoming a mother, I loved the freedom I had to jump in the car or on a plane for a last-minute getaway. Even though my travels are not as frequent or spontaneous post-kids, I take every chance I get to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether it’ll be a quick day trip near Toronto or a weekend getaway to Montreal, I never miss a chance.
We are so fortunate to be living in a province with a significant amount of family-friendly destinations. Today, I am taking you to Sherkston Shores, a beautiful resort just 90-minutes away from Toronto. This was our very first visit; it sure was the perfect way to start summer 2018. Over the course of five days, our getaway included a bit of relaxing and a lot of adventures. Read More »
It’s very hard to scroll through my Instagram these days without stumbling on a photo of Prince Edward County. Could it be because of the gastronomical delight, wineries, the antique shops or the art galleries? I must say it really piqued my curiosity. I have lived in Ontario for ages but never visited that side of the province.
A few days ago, we packed and headed to Prince Edward County for the perfect family getaway. Yes, friends, the County is not only for lovebirds and wine lovers, there are plenty of activities available for families. It only took us a few minutes of driving around to create an endless bucket list of things to do as a family. To help you plan your next visit, I’ve put together the perfect weekend itinerary to exploring and experiencing all the good things the County has to offer. Grab your tea, wine, coffee or whatever you have in hands because this is going to be a long and detailed post. Read More »
Apple Picking At Chudleigh’s Farm
September 5, 2017I am starting to feel that little chill in the air. That could only mean one thing- sweater weather is here. You know what else that means? Fun Fall activities are near. Grab your baskets and prepare to be amazed by the scenery as I take you to a fun filled day at Chudleigh’s Farm. What a difference a year makes! Last year when we went apple picking, the kids were so much smaller. I never knew that documenting our little life through this blog would bring me so much joy. Read More »
If you’re looking for a place to get wet and keep the kids busy this summer, you must visit Toronto’s newest water park, Wet’n’Wild. A place for the entire family to swim, drink, eat and swim some more. Those of you who follow my Insta Stories must have had a glimpse of our fun day at the park. When it comes to amusement parks, whether it’s indoor or outdoor water parks are my favorite. First, because there is nothing better than being in the water on a hot summer day. Second, because I am not a big fan of thrill rides. Insert all day spent at the lazy river. Read More »
I love discovering new restaurants to eat at in the city. The food scene in Toronto is one of the best in the world. There is always somewhere new to go, something new to try. Last week, I was invited to taste the delicious food and drinks at Kellys Landing Bar Grill Hub located just a few feet away from the Union Station in downtown Toronto. Such a convenient spot for those of us who live outside of the city. The proximity of the restaurant to the Air Canada Centre and Rogers Centre also makes it the perfect place to grab a meal or enjoy pre-or-post-game entertainment. Read More »
Sometimes the best adventures and most beautiful places are just a few hours away from home. Most days, I dream about long walks on sandy beaches in the Caribbean or a day exploring the souks of Marrakech. The truth is, right here in our backyard and just a few hours away from Toronto, lies an amazing place called Grey County.
Let’s be honest, traveling overseas or down south can be expensive and with the low Canadian dollar, it makes sense to stay close to home. If you’ve never been to this side of Ontario, I am sure you’ll consider a little weekend getaway after reading today’s post. Read More »
Jamaica! Jamaica! Jamaica! You were everything I imagined and then some. I just came back from an amazing kidcation trip with my family thanks to Sunwing vacations and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa in Jamaica.
First of all, if Jamaica is not on your short list for your next family vacation, do yourself a favor and add it, your kids will thank you later. The kids were a little jealous when I took my trip to Punta Cana with my friend back in March. So when this kidcation opportunity knocked they could not be happier. Read More »
I am sure I’ve mentioned before that packing is my one my least favorite parts of traveling. Since it’s something that cannot be avoided, finding ways to make it easy has become a priority. Introducing packing cubes. Where have these been all my life? In case you do not know, packing cubes are little pouches that help you organize your suitcase. They make the organization process so much easier. Read More »
I am always looking for inspiration. Instagram has been one of those places where I found the most amazing fashionistas, decoristas and travelistas. As I mentioned in previous posts traveling and taking care of our home are two of my priorities this year. I follow quite a few travel bloggers on Instagram and Snapchat. The fact that I am taken from country to country all from the comfort of my home is unbelievable. What was life before Snapchat? Out of all those accounts I follow, only a few of them are black travel bloggers. I thought it would be fun to go on a quest to find more of them. Read More »
