Toronto’s Newest Water Park: Wet’n’wild

If you’re looking for a place to get wet and keep the kids busy this summer, you must visit Toronto’s newest water park,  Wet’n’Wild. A place for the entire family to swim, drink, eat and swim some more. Those of you who follow my Insta Stories must have had a glimpse of our fun day at the park. When it comes to amusement parks, whether it’s indoor or outdoor water parks are my favorite.  First, because there is nothing better than being in the water on a hot summer day. Second, because I am not a big fan of thrill rides. Insert all day spent at the lazy river.

Here are a few tips to prepare yourself and your kids for a better experience.

  •  Get there early. This will allow you to enjoy the park before it gets too crowded. More importantly, you get to pick a spot near your favorite slide/pool.
  • Forgot your swimsuit home? don’t worry, swimsuits are available for purchase in the park’s shop near the entrance
  •  There are plenty of sitting and Picnic areas in the Park, I recommend bringing a picnic blanket, lawn chairs or loungers in case you can’t secure a seat
  • Grab a guide from the entrance, do a full tour of the park to locate the restaurants, the washrooms
  • Sunscreen is a must
  • Swim shoes are ideal, especially when you’re walking from one ride to the other.
  • Always check the height requirements of the rides before waiting on the line.
  • Though lockers are available for $15/day. I recommend leaving all valuables at home (not your car)
  • and…….let the kids lose.

For thrill seekers, there are slides that are sure to keep your toes curled. My husband loved the Hurricane and Typhoon Slides while I was more into the wave pool and lazy river.

When it comes to eating, outside food is not allowed in, however, the food court at Wet’n’wild offers a variety of options. The prices are no higher than any other water park I’ve been to. The kids and I went for our usual suspects, chicken fingers, fries, pizza, and a burger while the hubby went for a Subway sandwich. You can also grab a salad if that’s how you roll. Toward the day make sure to enjoy some ice creams and slushies.

Tips: Be ready for long lines at the food court. Do not wait until it gets crowded.
