Summer Wants

Sunshine on your mind? Yes, me too. It’s been raining in Toronto at least 4 times a week since we returned to back from our trip to Jamaica. I am looking forward to a fun and sunny summer! The kids are finally done with school, which means my hands are full at the moment.

I was on a little shopping strike, so it’s time to reward myself with a little some some. Here are a few things currently on my wish list on Amazon.ca Read More »

Easy Salmon recipe – Stuffed with Cream Cheese

Easy Salmon recipe - Stuffed with Cream Cheese

What can I say, I am a foodie. As much as I love take-outs, nothing beats a good homemade meal.  Most days after picking the kids from school you’ll find me in my kitchen trying to figure out dinner. I do have weekly menus that I try to follow to the teeth, but there are days where I just hop on the internet to find something to make. I am one of those cooks that hardly measures anything. If I make it once, I can make it next time with no measuring involved. For the sake of this post, I made sure everything is measured to make it easy for you to follow. This stuffed salmon is one of my absolute recipes. It easy to make and takes less than an hour. Even my husband, who’s only specialty is boiling eggs can do this one. Find the ingredients and instructions below. Read More »

Starting A Conversation With Your kids

I love when these two can get along and watch a show from beginning to end without any fight. It’s called the power of the Ipad and Netflix. Everything has changed from when we were young. Every kid now has one of these little devices on hand to keep them busy. As much as we try to reduce their online intake this is how things are headed now. They spend as much time with these little characters on their Ipad as they would with their friends. For that reason, it’s so important that we suggest shows with positive characters to help reinforce good values. I am sure you are aware that most time kids want to watch everything except what matches their proper age rating. Read More »

Healthy Lawn with Scotts® Lawn Response 9-1-1

Scotts® Lawn Response 9-1-1 x mycurvesandcurls.com Assa cisse
Guess who is going to get down and get dirty this summer? Apparently not me. When my husband asked me to come help him clear our backyard to get ready for summer gardening this is how I showed up. Oh yes! Even backyard work has to be done in style.

We’ve been trying to get our back and front yards lawn awesomely lush and green for a while now. It’s safe to say that we’ve made a considerable amount of mistakes along the way. Summer is getting closer and it’ll soon be time to get down with the lawn. We’ve had some time to get ready and plan things out. Over the next couple of posts, we’ll be documenting our efforts along the way and hope that you’ll take the journey with us (husband and I)  and possibly share some of your results as well. Life is too short not to love yourself. This is coming from a woman that has learned to be confident and love every inch of her body. I am not talking about when I am wearing makeup or beautiful clothes, but loving myself with all my imperfections. People tell me I’m confident! I agree, but the road to self-confidence has not been an easy one I must confess. There were times when I didn’t feel good enough, pretty enough, or cool enough. Everything has changed, because I decided that I had only one life to live and I must make the best of it. Read More »

Netflix & Chill With The New Download Feature

Netflix & Chill With The New Download FeatureWho watched the Oscars Sunday night? It was one of the best Oscar shows I’ve watched in a while. Everything went smoothly until the last few minutes off course. I felt so bad for the winners who ended up losing, but happy that Moonlight took it home. The star of the night was Mahershala Ali. I’ve seen him in so many shows on Netflix including, House of Cards, Luke Cage, and Suit to name a few. He is an incredible actor. Read More »
