Are you ready to layer up? It’s almost September and Fall is just around the corner. I am so excited today to partner with Old Navy to style one of my Fall 2013 must-haves. As I mentioned in a previous post Old Navy just launched their women’s plus line here in Canada, and they sent me a very generous gift card to try it out and of course report back to my readers. You already know that I immediately came up with a long list of items I wanted for Fall, ( you can see my list here) and this utility vest was one of them. I am wearing a 1x but this cute vest goes up to 4x. Shopping the women’s plus line is just like shopping the regular line and my shipping took about 8 days which was not bad at all. With the women’s plus line the free return can only be done by mail contrary to what I thought, so that will be something to think about when you make your order, I cannot wait to share the rest of my items in the coming posts. Have you started your Fall shopping yet? Read More »
Now let’s get to the good part. Above are some of the items I want. Summer is almost over, but this sequined chiffon tank is too cute to pass by.The mustard cross body tassel bag, and the twill surplus-Style Vest are definite must haves for me. As for the wide-Calf boots I’ve added both to my list because I cannot decide on the colour yet. My list would not be completed without a pair of slim boyfriend jeans. Although this is not part of the women’s line , I have been eyeing this Women’s belted jersey maxi dress for a while. It comes in four colours, but honestly I would not mind having all 4 of them.
The women’s Plus line is available exclusively at www.oldnavy.ca. You can shop 24/7, with free shipping on orders $50 or more and free returns every day. Not a big fan of online shopping? No problems, BORIS (Buy Online, Return In Store) will come to your rescue. If you don’t like the goods, Old Navy offers free returns via shipping or in store returns. You already know I will be on the site today to get my shopping on, so I will tell you all about my experience in the coming posts.

Hola loves ! I had another post scheduled for today but decided to post that on Monday because I had to take part of the Style me Friday this week. In case you don’t know what Style me Friday is all about you can check out the Fashionista Next Door for all the details. The challenge this week was pull off a monochromatic look but your easy white on white or all black we had to use some colors. I am not going to lie I tried a few items in the same color range but they all kind felt flats. At the end I settle for this one because the color worked together. You can check out the Fashionista Next Door to see what everyone else is wearing. Check out more photos below…… Read More »
If you and I ever meet during the weekend somewhere in GTA, this is most likely how I will be dressed. I will usually dress lighter in case I am going to the thrift shop because it’s much easier to try things on. I read many blogs and some of the bloggers are so elegant that I can’t help but to ask myself if they look this way everyday. Oh well ! I make sure I am always presentable when I leave my house because you never know who you are going to meet outside ,other than that if you and I are hanging out in my house I will be in a dress or a t-shirt and sweatpants. Do you ever wonder what your favorite bloggers look like outside of blogville ? Read More »
This faux leather jacket from Forever 21+ was a must have for me last Fall. Its such a great transition piece. Although it was not my first choice when I was looking for an affordable faux leather jacket it kind of grew on me once I started wearing it. I am still not sure about the studs on the shoulders I might remove them one of these days. It gives me “That bad chick ” feeling. I paired it with my go to black Old Navy Rockstar denim and Voila ! (I have been using word a lot lately).
Jacket: Forever 21 plus ( still available on the Canadian site ) | Denim: Old Navy (get it here) Shoes: The Bay | Shades: Aldo
When I laid my eyes on this fabric in my mother’s in law fabrics closet it was just love at first sight. It was quite different from my usual African print fabrics design wise. I found this amazing tailor and asked him to make a suit just for moi. I gave him one of my old blazers for inspiration and Voila ! Read More »
Hola loves,
Shocked right ? You rarely see me with this type of hair. I love my curly fro wigs and i am sticking to it but sometimes its good to step out of your comfort zone a bit and experience new things. I already took out my box braids out but will do it again soon. Today I am wearing my much loved Mud cloth (bogolan) skirt. I made this since last April but never wore it. You might remember I wore the short suit version of this fabric here. I love the fabric so much I made 3 pieces instead of 2. I usually don’t like to go totally red on Valentine’s day I think a pop of red here and there is good for me. This look was inspired by this post by Naturally fashionable. I mean I have never seen a curvy girl rocking crop tops as she does. There aren’t a lot of options out there when it comes to plus size crop tops but I like this one from Nakimuli and this one from Rue 107. If you are on a budget like moi you can make your own. I made this with the help of my scissors and my sewing machine. I guess it turned out ok. I have added some budget friendly tops that goes up to size 14 on the shop my look section. How was your valentine’s day ? Read More »
