Summer Wash Day With Target Beauty

Do you want to know what I do not have time for this summer? I do not have time for endless hair care routines that take an entire day to complete. The world is opening back up, and I am here a quick and easy wash & go so I can enjoy all that the outdoors have to offer. When it comes to summer hair, I turn to Target to help me achieve my go-to summer look. I’ve found many of my favorite curly hair brands over the years there, and they have one of the best selections.

To know me is to know how much I love Target. I remember those long walks I used to take with my best friend at night when it was cold outside. There are two sections we always checked out, and that is the beauty and home decor section. Target has everything to fulfill your beauty needs and some. This partnership means so much to me because working with Target has been a dream of mine, and I get to feature some of my favorite natural hair care products from Black-owned/ founded brands. The best part all the products featured are under $15.

Woot woot !

Although not every product featured is Black-owned/ founded the majority are. If you want to know once you click on the product and go on the target website, a sign below indicates if it is.

Wash and gos have become a staple routine within the natural hair community. It took me a while to master them because I had to use many product combinations to get the one combo that works for me.

Without further ado, here are the steps to my wash & go routine and some of the Target products I use to achieve this look

PS. I use this routine on both my natural hair and curly hair weaves.

Cleansing

The key to achieving the perfect wash & and go is to apply your products to freshly washed and clean hair. Two of my current faves to clean my hair are the SheaMoisture Curl and Shine Coconut Shampoo for Curly Hair Coconut and Hibiscus and the As I Am Dry and Itchy Shampoo.

I sadly deal with quite a bit of dandruff, and my scalp is always itchy. The As I Am Dry and Itchy Shampoo shampoo gently removes product build-up and fights dry & itchy scalp. I used both products alternatively.

Conditioning

After washing my hair, I like to condition and detangle my curls. Carol’s Daughter Coco Creme Curl Quenching Conditioner with Coconut Oil smells so good and is created for naturally curly hair. From the short-cropped 4c curly hairstyle to 1c waves the product contains ingredients our curls crave, like Mango Seed Butter, Shea Butter, and Coconut Oil.

Styling

Now let’s talk about styling. This is the most important step because you can weigh down your curls and ruin your wash & go if you use the wrong product. The Aunt Jackie’s Knot on My Watch Instant Detangling Therapy is a must-have to detangle my hair. I have been using it since my first big chop. I also use it to detangle my boy’s hair.

I like first to moisturize with OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Extra Penetrating Hair Oil and then add Miss Jessie’s Jelly Soft Curls Gel in small sections. This part is a bit time-consuming but oh so worth it.

Remember all these products are available at your nearest Target orĀ Target.com
