Fall Ankle Boots Under ($100)

Ankle boots

Post updated with new options Sept 2018.

When it comes to fall shopping ankle boots are always on my list of thing to get. Over the years, I have accumulated a few pairs, but you can never have enough. There are hot colors and styles every year. This season, for instance, white boots are really hot. I just got a pair from Payless but not sure how I feel about them just yet. Below, I am sharing some of my favorite ankle boots and the good news is they are all under $100.

If you wear a size 12 or more I would also suggest checking Dorothy Perkins Zappos, Nordstrom, and long Tall Sally.

Happy Shopping!

Stripes

I am  such a sucker for stripes and leopard. I bought  this dress since last year and wore it  few times but never had time to photograph it. I hope you are all enjoying your long weekend.

32 and counting………..

Your girl turned 32 today. I am not as hype as I used to be on my birthdays since I entered my 30s. Maybe because I am really scared of getting old. I am thankful to be alive & healthy, and hope to celebrate many more years.

Are you happy with yourself ?

Plus size dresses for women #mycurvesandcurls #psbloggers #Stripes #plussize #fashion #canadian

Right before I started writing this post, I saw a very interesting post on my instagram feed here. The post was about fact that many of us let ourselves be fooled because we have a certain number of followers on social media. After I re-posted the post on my feed, I asked my followers the following question:

” After you turn off your facebook, instagram, twitter, blog, are you still happy with your life and the things you’ve accomplished ? “

I had a long conversation with a blogger friend of mine just a couple of weeks ago. I expressed to her how sometimes, I really wanted blogging to go back to what it was before.Remember, when people just blogged for the love of it? Remember when you did not have to advertise on social media ? Don’t get me wrong social media is a beautiful thing, however you have to remember that they can be shut down in a minute. The things you do when you are not online are really the moments that matter.

When you pick up your kids from school, when you cook your family’s favorite meals, when you take care of your husband/wife/partner, when you assist your friends in time of need, when you donate that blood at the hospital, how you treat people to name a few. So let me ask you again, when you turn off your computer are you happy with your yourself , and your life?

My visit to Toronto plus size store ” Your Big Sister’s Closet”

I’ve really enjoyed being behind the lense lately. After being photographed at least twice week for the last few years, I am loving working on the other side of the camera. I was very excited when Karen Ward from The Curvy Canadian and co-owner of Your Big Sister’s Closet extended an invitation to visit her store.Your big Sister’s Closet is a plus size boutique/store located in Toronto, Ontario. The store so beautifully set up, and is filled with racks of color coordinated skirts, fit and flare dresses, accessories, and more……. Their clothes cater to women sizes 12US to 24 US in select styles. As you can see in pictures above I played dress up for a few hours. Oh! By the way, I also met the sweetest saleswoman also a blogger over at Not Afraid To Wear Heels. I am really glad I visited the store and I can’t wait to go back. As much as I love shopping online and in department stores, I am equally all for supporting our local stores. Karen is such an inspiring woman. She is not one who only sat and complained about the lack of diversity in clothing in Canada, but actually did something about it. Btw, Your Big Sister’s Closet also has an online store with free international shipping. Yes, free international shipping !

A little obsessed with off shoulders

A little Obsessed with off shoulders. Plus size fashion for women. #mididkirt #mycurvesandcurls

Clearly I have a thing for anything off the shoulder these days. I know I’ve fooled quite a few people on instagram last week when I wore this off the shoulder dress with ruffles as a top. There won’t be any fooling today, because I am actually wearing an off  shoulder black top. This top goes with every single midi skirts, jeans, in my closet. I got it a few months ago from Asos. They are now sold out, but you can find plenty of options HERE  and below. Read More »

FRENCH CURVES: “incarner un personnage réel ou fictif”

It’s time for another French Curves challenge. For those of you who are new here, French Curves is a monthly outfit challenge for curvy French speaking bloggers. This month’s challenge is to embody and or recreate a look from a celebrity ( singer, actress, …..) or a movie character. I have decided to recreate this look from the beautiful Miroslava Duma former editor of Harper’s Bazaar Russia. I have been looking for a blue pantsuit for while with no luck. I’ve had this blazer for while, so when I found these pants from a sale rack at penningtons, I had to grab it. The colors don’t match, but I  thought they were close enough to recreate this look. Colored suits are not easy to find, so you better off buying the pieces separate.

10 Simple Tips For A New Blogger

blogging tips
I’ve received about a couple of emails this month about blogging and what advice I would give to someone starting a new blog. I already responded to the emails, however I also wanted to write a post as part of my better blogging series just in case some of you reading this blog are thinking about starting your own. There are a number of blog posts out there already about this subject, so I am just honoured that someone would ask my opinion. Even though I have been blogging for a while now I am still learning new things every day. Honestly, I hear everyday that fashion blogging is saturated, but in my opinion there is a little space for all of us on the web.
There is no special formula to a successful blog, what works for me might not work for you. My main tips aside from the ten I am giving you below is to FOCUS on yourself and your work. I know it does sound selfish, but I say focus on what you can do to make your blog, craft or whatever you are doing better. I also read everywhere that you should not blog for the money or perks, however there are plenty of blogs out there that are for profit blogs. As long as you are disclosing to your readers that you are in it for the business side of it, there is nothing wrong with starting a blog as a business. I can tell you from experience that the moment I started taking my blog more seriously, and treat it like a job is really when I started to see improvement all across the board.
Whether you are starting yours just for fun, or for business you will need a certain amount of dedication in order to succeed.
Here a few tips for you:
Blog about whatever you love, or your business
Interact and connect with other bloggers, and your readers
Take advantage of social media, especially Pinterest
Don’t feel like you have to spend money just because you need content
Keep away from the blogosphere drama, and focus on you and your work.
You don’t have to post everyday, but do try to blog consistently
Make sure your contact page is up to date
Be inspired , but do not copy
Do not let negative comments, or other people opinion of you stop you from reaching your goals
Always, always remember why you started.
Here are a few book recommendations for you.
