When January came to an end, it dawned on me that I had zero plans for March break. Between running my business and planning the renovation of our master bedroom, I totally forgot about planning our usual March break trip. Though this is not the first time we stayed home during a major school break, things are bit different now that the kids are older.

Is there anything cuter than matching family holiday pajamas on Christmas day? I don’t think so. I bet the sale of Pajamas doubles around this time of the year. The first thing that drew me to matching Christmas PJs was probably all of the cute photos of families on Instagram. Yes, I am not ashamed to say that I am influenced by what I see on the gram. Now it’s a tradition, every year we must get new matching Pajamas. The idea of cozying up in coordinating pajamas makes the whole holiday season a little extra special. Whenever one of you fabulous moms ask me for tips on how to take lifestyle photos of your children, I go through millions of stories. You know why? Because when you are photographing children, there is no dull moment. I am pretty sure I go through all kind of emotions especially when I am running out of time on a project. The results might be cute and adorable, but this mama had to learn the hard way that kids will be kids and you must oblige.
Before I give you my 5 Tips to take lifestyle photos of your children I must tell you a little story too. When my kids were young, I took pictures of them just for our family. At that time I was not interested in putting them online because I wanted to keep those moments of their lives for me. As they started to grow and see mom taking photos for her job, they began to take an interest in photography. By the time I started sharing their photos online, my skills were much better. If someone had told me that one day all I would be able to capture my family vacations with a phone I would have laughed out loud. Seriously I would have. While calling smartphones the revolution of the century would be a big understatement, it’s nice to sometimes reflect on how these pocket-friendly devices have changed our day to day lives. As a mom and content creator, taking pictures is second nature; As far back as I can recall, I’ve always had some sort of camera with me documenting everything I came across. Of course, this got a lot more intense when my kids were born, I literally don’t go anywhere anymore without a camera.
Let’s talk about finances. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite subject especially given the limited amount of financial education we get from school. Seriously, why aren’t we taught about managing our money in school? I am certainly not an expert when it comes to money but after freelancing for a certain amount of years and married to someone who checks our bank accounts at least a couple of time a day, I have learned a thing or two.
There are many aspects of money management I’d like to touch on in the future but today I want to focus on budgeting and saving. I took a poll on my Instastories to find out what you guys struggle with the most and the result indicated that most people had issues with saving. Let’s just say in order to save you must know where your money is going. Budgeting is the most important step to conquering your finances. In other words, having a plan for your money is key. Do you want to know what my kids’ favorite thing is during the weekend? Waking up to a yummy breakfast instead of the usual cereals they get during the week. In this case, they helped me put the final touches to these crepes hence the all over the place drippings.
I have a lot of gadgets in my kitchen. I will be lying if I say that I use them all because I do not. I do love the ones I go back to over and over again. Before getting the Vitamix E310 a few weeks ago, I used a blender from Cuisinart that was given to me as a wedding gift 12 years ago. I know what you must be thinking, who keeps a gadget for that long. Well! I did and used it until I got my hands on the Vitamix E310 Explorian.
